Justin Mariner is a Montreal-based composer and educator. He has been commissioned to write pieces for the Via Salzburg Chamber Orchestra, the Ensemble contemporain de Montréal, the Société de musique contemporaine du Québec, Quatuor Bozzini and Brigitte Poulin. His works have also been performed by Continuum Contemporary Music, the Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal, l’Orchestre symphonique de la Montérégie and Orchestra London. His music has been included in the Winnipeg New Music Festival, Cluster Festival, the Gaudeamus International Music Week, and the Toronto International Film Festival, and has been recognized in the CBC National Competition for Young Composers, the SOCAN awards for Young Composers and the Victoria Symphony Orchestra’s Reel Music project (2005) in which he was awarded first place in the drama category.     Read more...
